Despite a Florida pastor's promise that he'd never burn a Koran, protesters continued to demonstrate and clash with Afghan security forces for the second day in a row. Four protesters were seriously injured on Saturday when Afghan security forces opened fire after thousands of demonstrators tried to storm government buildings in Puli-Alam, capital of Logar province, officials said. "The security forces did not want any trouble but were forced to open fire when the protesters tried to force their way into the buildings," Din Mohammad Darwish, the provincial governor's spokesman, told Reuters. Shops and police checkpoints were set on fire Friday, and thousands chanted "Death to America," also in Puli-Alam. On Friday, thousands rallied in the streets in three separate districts, authorities said.
