Four Iraqis killed in Mosul car bomb
Four people, including one policeman, were killed by a car bomb in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Sunday, police said. Three civilians were killed and three others wounded in the explosion, which apparently targeted policemen patrolling the western Mosul district of Den-Den, police there told the German Press Agency dpa.
Police in eastern Mosul also found five unidentified bodies in the Tahrir neighbourhood on Sunday, they said, without providing further details. Despite successive security pushes that have netted hundreds of suspected militants in Mosul and its environs over recent months, near-daily attacks continue to kill civilians and police in the area, which is among the most ethnically and religiously diverse in Iraq.
