The Iranian Exports Development Bank on Saturday announced the launch of $34-million new lines to carry power from Iran the eastern Iraq province of Diala at a capacity of 400 kilowatt, according to Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). "The Iranian bank has financed 85 percent of the total sum appropriated for the 210-km-long power lines in addition to a transformer station project," the bank's CEO was quoted by IRNA as saying. The high production of power in Iran has allowed the possibility of exporting electricity to neighboring countries, including Iraq, he said.
