Baquba * Gunmen kill four members of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution, the country's leading Shiite party, while they are driving in their car. Iskandariyah * Two policemen are killed and one wounded by a roadside bomb. February 14 Baghdad * Four US soldiers are wounded when their convoy is attacked. * One US Marine is killed and two others wounded by a roadside bomb. * An Iraqi army major and his son are killed by gunmen. * A civilian is wounded by a car bomb targeting a police patrol. Baiji * A police colonel and one of his relatives are wounded by gunmen. Balad * Eleven Shiites working on a farm are killed and two others wounded by gunmen. Basra * Authorities in the province sever all ties with Britain because of the British military's abuse of several young Iraqi men two years ago. * Authorities demand the Danish military contingent leave unless the Danish government apologizes for the contentious Prophet Mohammed drawings. Baquba * A police colonel escapes assassination but is wounded when gunmen open fire on his car. * A policeman is killed and another five injured when gunmen attack a checkpoint. Taiji * An Iraqi army major and his son are killed by gunmen. Tikrit * A contractor working with the Iraqi army is killed by gunmen. February 15 Baghdad * US soldiers kill four insurgents in three separate gun battles. * Four policemen are killed and four civilians wounded by a car bomb targeting a police patrol. * A civilian is killed and four others wounded by a car bomb targeting a police patrol. * Four civilians and two policemen are wounded by a car bomb targeting police commandos. * Three children are killed by a roadside bomb near a primary school. * A police captain is killed along with his driver by gunmen. February 18 Baghdad * A US soldier is killed by a roadside bomb. * Three policemen are killed and three wounded by a roadside bomb targeting their patrol. * A senior police officer escapes death when a roadside bomb explodes near his vehicle, killing one of his bodyguards and wounding another. * US soldiers kill three men trying to plant roadside bombs. Baquba * One civilian is killed and four others are wounded by a roadside bomb. Falluja * A child is killed and his brother's legs blown off by a roadside bomb. February 19 Baghdad * Two Iraqis are killed and six wounded by a car bomb targeting police near the entrance to the Green Zone. * Four Iraqis are wounded by a suicide bomber at the Planning Ministry. * Three Iraqis are wounded by a suicide bomber at an Iraqi army checkpoint outside the defense ministry. * Two people are killed and five wounded by a car bomb near a Shiite political office. Dhuluiya * A Sunni cleric is assassinated and his brother wounded by gunmen. Kirkuk * A senior police officer and two of his bodyguards are killed by a roadside bomb targeting their convoy. Nibaie * Four Iraqis are killed when their convoy of trucks carrying construction material to a US military base is ambushed by gunmen. Tuz Khurmatu * Four Iraqi policemen are wounded by a roadside bomb targeting their patrol. * The police chief of the city escapes unharmed when four of his bodyguards are wounded by a roadside bomb targeting his convoy.
