Baghdad * Two South African security contractors are killed and three others are wounded by a car bomb near a gate leading into the Green Zone. * Three people are killed and four more are wounded by a roadside bomb on a busy commercial street. * An Iraqi police officer is killed and two others injured by a roadside bomb. * An imam and an Iraqi military intelligence officer are gunned down in separate incidents. * A police colonel is killed south of the capital. Ramadi * Six civilians are killed and 30 others wounded by a roadside bomb targeting a US patrol. Ubaydi * Fifty insurgents are killed by air strikes or in small arms fire engagements in a joint US-Iraqi assault. * Three US Marines are killed and at least nine others wounded in ambushes and street battles. November 15 Baghdad * A university lecturer is wounded in an assassination attempt and his driver is killed. * Two Iraqi policemen are killed and seven people injured by a car bomber parked near a restaurant. * Three US soldiers are killed by a roadside bomb targeting their patrol. Kirkuk * Four policemen are shot dead in an ambush. * Three policemen are killed and three others are wounded by a roadside bomb. Mosul * Three insurgents and a policeman are killed in fighting. Ubaydi * At least four Iraqi soldiers are wounded by a roadside bomb. November 16 Baghdad * A US soldier dies from wounds inflicted by a roadside bomb explosion Nov. 15. Beiji * The head of police and five of his bodyguards are wounded by a roadside bomb targeting his motorcade. Haditha * A US Marine is killed by a makeshift bomb. Ramadi * A police Lieutenant and his son are abducted. Karmah * A US Marine is killed by a car bomb. Mosul * Three Iraqi policemen are killed by gunmen. * A traffic cop is killed by gunmen. Ubaydi * Five Marines are killed and 11 others are wounded in battle. November 17 Buhruz * Two Iraqi policemen are killed and seven others wounded by a roadside bomb targeting a US-Iraqi patrol. Karbala * A former member of the Baath Party is assassinated and his son is wounded by gunmen. Ramadi * Police find the bodies of a police lieutenant and his son with gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Tal Afar * One US soldier is killed and two others are wounded in a vehicular accident. November 18 Baghdad * At least six people are killed, including two children, and 40 others wounded by two suicide car bombers targeting a hotel used by foreigners. * A Sheikh and his driver are assassinated by gunmen inside a Shiite mosque. * Three children are killed and one is wounded by mortar rounds fired at a US base that miss their target and hit a house. * Gunmen kidnap a Shiite politician from his home. Beiji * A US soldier dies from wounds suffered two days earlier when his car was deliberately rammed. Kenaan * Three civilians are wounded by a suicide car bomb targeting a US patrol. Khanaqin * At least 80 Shiites are killed in two Shiite mosques and 150 others wounded by suicide bombers. Ramadi * Thirty-two insurgents and three civilians are killed in clashes and a Marine, an Iraqi soldier and five others are wounded. November 19 Abu Sayda * At least 50 people are killed and 75 others wounded by a suicide bomber in a crowd of Shiite mourners. Baghdad * Thirteen people are killed and at least twenty others wounded by a car bomb in a crowd of shoppers at an outdoor market. * Eleven civilians and three policemen are wounded by a suicide car bomber targeting a police patrol. * Three policemen are wounded by gunmen who attack their patrol along a highway. * Baqubah * Two Iraqi policemen and two civilians are killed and four people are wounded by gunmen who attack a police checkpoint. * Six mortar rounds land on the house of the Diyalah governor, wounding two of his bodyguards. Beiji * Five US soldiers are killed and five others are wounded by two roadside bombings. Haditha * Fifteen Iraqi civilians and a US Marine are killed by a roadside bomb. Karbala * Five former members of the Baath party are killed in a series of attacks. Mosul * Four Iraqi policemen are killed and 11 US troops are wounded when US-Iraqi forces raid an alleged al-Qaida hideout. At least seven insurgents die, three committing suicide to prevent capture. November 20 Baghdad * Three Iraqi soldiers are killed and five others are wounded by gunmen and a bomb. * A British soldier is killed and four others are injured by a roadside bomb. Haditha * Fifteen civilians, eight insurgents and a US Marine are killed by a roadside bomb and the ensuing firefight. Hilla * One man is seriously wounded in a mortar attack on a US military base. Karmah * A US Marine dies from gunshot wounds received a day earlier. Muqdadiya * A head of the Iraqi Islamic Party dies from wounds inflicted by gunmen several days earlier.
