Kucinich receives social justice award

Throughout his 12-year stint in Congress, and for more than two decades of public service before that, Dennis Kucinich has focused on a variety of issues revolving around peace, justice and equality. From the environment to unemployment to nuclear disarmament, the congressman from Cleveland has tackled each issue. The battle for him -- to extend universal health care to all Americans -- was front and center last night as he accepted the Thomas Merton Center's annual award for social justice at the Churchill Valley Country Club. "The plan Congress is looking for this week is not enough," Mr. Kucinich said.
