Mexico rights group: 2 Indian activists killed
A human rights group in southern Mexico says the bodies of two men found in shallow graves have been identified as Indian activists reported missing earlier this month.
The group Tlachinollan says the men's bodies were found "with visible signs of torture and in an advanced state of decomposition."
The center says Raul Lucas Lucia and Manuel Ponce Rosas were leaders of a Mixtec Indian activist group and were kidnapped on Feb. 13 by men who identified themselves as police.
The men had protested alleged army detentions, searches and interrogations of Indians in an area of southern Guerrero state where guerrillas were once active.
The bodies were found Feb. 20 and identified by the victims' wives on Sunday.
