Baghdad * Three British Muslims traveling on a religious pilgrimage are killed and three more wounded by gunmen. * Two Iraqi Islamic Party members and a bodyguard are killed by gunmen. * A guard for the mayor of Baghdad is shot dead. * A senior member of a Shiite political party is shot dead. Baquba * Four US soldiers are wounded by a suicide car bomb attack. Kirkuk * One Iraqi soldier is shot dead and another is wounded in an attack on their convoy. Mahaweel * A local Interior Ministry official's bodyguard is killed and four other people are wounded by a roadside bomb attack. Tikrit * A relative of Saddam Hussein and a former Iraqi army officer are kidnapped from a house by gunmen. November 29 Baghdad * Two US soldiers are killed by a roadside bomb attack. * One US soldier is wounded by a roadside bomb. * A senior official in the Housing and Reconstruction Ministry is kidnapped from his home. * A member of the Badr organization is kidnapped by unidentified men. * The Iraqi government bars non-Iraqi Arab nationals from entering the country until further notice. Balad * Six Iranians, including two women and an Iraqi woman (who are released later in the day) are kidnapped after gunmen open fire on their bus and wound the driver. Basra * A police commander's driver is killed by gunmen. Falluja * A senior Sunni cleric leaves his mosque and is killed by unidentified gunmen. Mosul * Two members of the Christian Assyrian Democratic Movement are shot and killed and another two are wounded by gunmen while putting up election campaign posters. Tarmiyah * Eight Iraqi soldiers are killed and five more wounded by a suicide car bomber who drives into their patrol. November 30 Baghdad * A US soldier dies from a gunshot wound. * Two security guards working for the office of a member of the National Assembly are wounded by snipers. Falluja * Two Marines are killed by small-arms fire in combat. Manzilah * An Iraqi army officer and two soldiers are seriously wounded by a makeshift bomb targeting their patrol. Taqaddum * A US Marine dies in a non-hostile vehicle accident. December 1 Baghdad * An adviser to Iraq's interior minister and two of his bodyguards are wounded while another is killed in an attack on their convoy. * US forces find two civilians bound and gagged in the trunk of a vehicle driven by two men carrying fake Iraqi police badges. Basra * An Iraqi translator working for British forces is assassinated by gunmen. Falluja * Ten US Marines are killed and 11 are wounded when one steps on a pressure sensitive bomb in an abandoned flour factory used by the Marines as an outpost. Kifl * Three civilians are killed when a US Bradley fighting vehicle rolls over their car. Ramadi * A US soldier dies of wounds from a rocket attack. * More than 250 gunmen seize parts of the mainly Sunni city after attacking a US base and government buildings, including the governor's office, with rockets. December 2 Balad * Three US soldiers are killed in a vehicle accident. Baquba * Two brothers who were members of Iraq's electoral board are attacked by gunmen, killing one and wounding the other. Samarra * Two civilians are wounded by a car bomb explosion. * One Iraqi policeman is wounded during clashes between Iraqi-US forces and insurgents. December 3 Adhaim * Nineteen Iraqi soldiers are killed and four others are wounded in an ambush on their patrol. Mosul * Two US soldiers are wounded when their base comes under rocket attack. Samarra * One Iraqi policeman is killed in a gunfight. December 4 Ahmar * Two Iraqi policemen are killed by gunmen. Baghdad * A US soldier is killed by a roadside bomb. * Three civilians are killed and 26 others wounded by a bomb placed under a car. * Two police are wounded by a roadside bomb attack. * The imam of a Shiite mosque is killed by gunmen. * One of Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's representatives is found shot dead in his car. * A Shiite Muslim candidate who was running in this month's general election is killed by gunmen. * A police commander is killed by gunmen. Baiji * A woman and two children are wounded when US forces conduct an air strike targeting two houses in retaliation for a mortar attack on a US base. Balad * Two US soldiers are killed and several others wounded by a roadside bomb in the suburbs. Two insurgents are killed by US Air Force laser guided bombs after they fire on an army patrol. Iskandariya * Five members of the Iraqi security forces are wounded by a roadside bomb. Najaf * Former Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi avoids assassination by running to safety amidst a torrent of tomatoes, shoes and rocks when he is attacked in a Shiite mosque by dozens of men in black, armed with guns and knives. Udaim * Twenty insurgents are killed and 75 suspects detained by the Iraqi army. Zarkuush * Two people are killed, including a policeman, by a roadside bomb.
