Bronislaw Komorowski has won Poland's presidential election after a cliffhanger vote that saw his rival Jaroslaw Kaczynski edge ahead during early counting. But with 95 per cent of the votes counted, the candidate from the ruling Civic Platform (PO), which investors see as market-oriented and pro-euro, had won 52.6 per cent, the election commission said. Kaczynski, the identical twin brother of Lech Kaczynski, the late president whose death in an April plane crash in Russia led to the early election, trailed with 47.4 per cent of the vote. Komorowski's victory is set to be confirmed when final results are published on Monday afternoon. Kaczynski, head of the Law and Justice party (PiS), had conceded defeat when exit polls had indicated a Komorowski victory, although hours later he briefly nudged ahead of his rival in the count.
